Water fitness

Aquafit®: a complete workout that gets your heart going

Aquafit is a complete workout performed in suspension, using a buoyancy belt: it alternates water running and bodyweight exercises, stimulating the cardiovascular system and the muscles. In warm water, it uses the water’s resistance for effective, safe training suitable for all levels.

Who it’s for

Adults looking for a dynamic, complete workout, with the comfort and safety of water. The buoyancy belt keeps the body suspended and makes the course suitable for different fitness levels, even for those who don’t swim.
Benefits

Heart and muscles, in the water

Performed in suspension, with the belt: zero ground impact
Stimulates the cardiovascular system
Strengthens the muscles using the water’s resistance
Burns energy with reduced impact on the joints
Improves tone, posture and coordination
A water surface crossed by short, regular waves
A step up

More intensity, still zero impact

Compared to acquagym the pace rises and the muscle work gets more intense, but the joints stay unloaded.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between Acquagym and Aquafit?

+
Acquagym is a fast-paced activity, focused on dynamic exercises to improve strength and endurance. Aquafit, on the other hand, alternates running and bodyweight exercises, performed with the help of a buoyancy belt suitable for all levels: it helps improve mobility, relaxation and posture.

Do I need a medical certificate to sign up?

+
No. In Switzerland a medical certificate is not required for pool courses and Ondarte does not ask for one: you can sign up directly, with no medical visits or health documents. We only ask you to let us know of any health conditions the instructor should be aware of, so we can support you as well as possible in the water.

Is the course recognised by health insurers?

+
Ondarte is recognised by several health insurers. Reimbursement conditions are set by each individual health insurer: we recommend checking them with your own insurance.
